This page is dedicated for those who are interested to further their study in a doctoral program (in becoming PhD candidates) or those who are already in the PhD program. It is not an easy path to go through a tough training at The University of Hong Kong under the supervision of a world re-known scholar in early childhood education, Prof. Nirmala Rao, whom I greatly admire. I still remember vividly the long hours in the evening and weekend working on my thesis and the adventurous trip to the jungle in Bali to visit the Green School, Bali; the difficulties that I faced in getting permission to get data from the Preschool in Berkeley (thankfully, I was one of their alumni that at the end, I could get data from there); and I even faced hurtles in getting data from Hong Kong Preschool. What I shared here is a lot of valuable information that normally others will keep for themselves. I decided to create this page because I sincerely would like to help other students out there that perhaps were in my position back then (2012 to 2016). I prefer not to share my entire thesis, but instead the "Table of Content" (so that others can see how to structure their own study). It is also a great privilege to receive advice from Prof. Rao to structure my thesis so that it could be prepare for publications (this save a lot of time and headache). For those who are considering or thinking to pursue a PhD: "Please have an honest conversation with yourself whether this is really what you want because once you are in the program, it will take a lot of determination, hard-work effort, and sacrifices to complete it well." Hope you enjoy this page and make the best out of your own PhD journey!!!!

Bronfenbrenner Diagram

This Bronfenbrenner Ecological Theory Diagram was created specifically for my PhD thesis. However, there are many ways to use this theory for other research and studies.
