Personal Principle as an Early Childhood Educator
As a Christian, I try my very best to put God's words into practice. Even though often time, it is not easy to 'walk the talk'', my work as an early childhood educator, required me to work closely with children. Children are very sensitive and they are still forming their perception about the world. Therefore, we as adults need to be very careful in what we expose to children. Children bring joy and laughter because they think in a more simple and transparent in comparison with adults. I receive a lot of personal satisfaction when I take care of young children because their trust, love, and respect to me as a teacher meant so much more than simply the pay check that comes every month. During the time when I worked as an assistant teacher, a substitute teacher, and a preschool teacher before, during, and after finishing up my masters study in education, I had the great pleasure to interact directly with children. Today, my work in research about 'quality and sustainability of green preschool environment' may not required me to directly interact with the children but I have always try to remember the time when I played with them, took care of them, laughed with them, and learned a lot from them. I believe it is my responsibility and my vocation to help the well-being of children with God's given talents whether they are in architectural design, education, or urban planning. God thinks highly of children and this meant I have to take it very seriously any work related to children. Finally, let me share with you the verse from Matthew 19:14 when Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." Let me urge each one of you who happened to encounter my website to do our best to improve the well-being of children; they are our future and they deserve the very best!!! "I met Ailin at the Children's Creative Learning Center when my son, Ian, stays after his kindergarten classes. As a teacher, Ailin demonstrated great passion and dedication for her work. She was not only take cares the kindergarten children, but also taught and guided children from first grade to fifth grade. She often extended her hours for the children and played an even more important role in continuing my son's learning when school was not in session. Ailin has a great ability to connect with people especially with children. She is gentle, attentive, and sensitive to children's needs at all the time. She is very knowledgeable about child development."

Ï had a wonderful and pleasure of knowing Miss. Iwan. I came to know Ailin upon our working relationship at Children's Creative Learning Center in Burlingame, California. I am a head teacher here and she was a teacher assistant. We both work in the school age program there with children ages five through ten (kindergarten to fifth grade). I have had first hand observation and have witnessed many times over her unique and 'positive' teaching experiences, her 'positive' expertise in dealing with young children, both regular education, young children at risk, and of special needs. Ailin is also very creative and professional at all time, and she maintains a very 'positive' and rewarding rapport with students, parents, and staffs alike. She is very 'gifted' with young children and her teaching profession, and she is very knowledgeable with curriculum planning and day to day lesson plan."

"I have had the pleasure to supervise and work with Ailin during her last year at Visitation Valley Community Center. Ailin has worked as a Substitute Teacher at Visitation Valley Community Center for the last six months. Ailin has been a substitute teacher in our four different centers with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. She has been responsible for all tasks that under the direction of supervisors. Ailin possesses a positive and enthusiastic personality. She has a great rapport with the students she has worked with. She is well dressed, articulate, and always ready with a smile and a kind word. I have found that other team members have accepted her as a strong working member of our team and she has had a positive working relationship with each one of them, as well as with other staff members."

"I have had a good fortune to supervise Ailin during the last several months at Visitation Valley Community Center. Ailin has been working at VVCC during the school year as a substitute teacher. We have been able to use her consistently at one of our sites on a regular basis and have felt fortunate to have her. She is diligent. conscientious, and always interested in learning more about child development and early education."
